Activities and Tours

There are tons of things to do in and around the area of duPlooy's Jungle Lodge. You can choose to go canoeing on the either the Macal, Mopan or Belize rivers, visit some of the best Mayan ruins anywhere, see spectacular caves, go birding or horseback riding across the Belizean countryside, try some of the other local attractions, or just stay right here for the rainforest trails, swimming or the Belize Botanic Gardens.

Activities and Tours on a Package

If you have chosen duPlooy's easy Tour Package, you may choose from the activities you see here. Some tours such as Tikal, Jaguar Paw, and Belize River Overnight carry a surcharge. You are entitled to 2 half day items or 1 full day on non-transfer days.

If you are traveling a la carte and would like to switch to a package or meal plan, let us know in the office. If you will be picnicking, order from your waitperson the night before. Remember to let us known if you have special dietary needs.

Things to Bring

      If you are packing for your trip to Belize a handy checklist includes:

  • sun screen
  • good walking shoes or water shoes
  • insect repellent
  • binoculars
  • bird book
  • camera
  • sunglasses
  • sun hat
  • bathing suit
  • flashlight
  • beach towel

Things NOT to Bring

Leave the chunky gold jewelry and bags of cash at home! Just bring what you need. Unfortunately, tourists are targeted more than others for petty theft so just travel light and use common sense precautions. Only take the minimum required amount of money and possessions with you on trips and tours.
