(B=Breakfast included; L=Lunch included; D=Dinner included)

Day 1 – Meet your guide at the Belize City Airport for your transfer to duPlooy’s Jungle Lodge. Stop at the Belize Zoo on the way if time permits and visit with some of Belize’s indigenous animals such as the Jaguar, Tapir and Scarlet Macaw; Cold drinks and snacks are provided along the way. D

Day 2 – You'll want to leave early to begin your day's adventure with some easy guided Canoeing down the Macal River. If you look closely you are likely to spot iguanas in the treetops and turtles resting on the waters edge. See who can spot the most birds! Look for cormorants, ducks and kingfishers. There are plenty of spots to stop and take a refreshing swim, as you slowly make your way downstream. BLD

Tie-up your canoe in San Ignacio Town and explore the town a bit before lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, head up the hill to the San Ignacio Hotel's Iguana Conservation Project where you and your family will have the opportunity to take a closer look at these descendants of dinosaurs and learn how vital they are to the ecological balance of the Macal River Eco-system. Next visit Ajaw Chocolate and take part in traditional Mayan Chocolate making. Stone grind beans and sample original hot chocolate like the ancient Mayan people. These hands-on tours are both fun and educational and take about an hour each to complete.

Return to duPlooy's in time to frolic around on the beach before the end of the first of more fun-filled days to come. BLD

Day 3 – Head for the the Mountain Pine Ridge and Rio Frio Cave, which offers many nooks and crannies for safe exploration. After you have thoroughly explored the cave, have a picnic and swim in the cascading Rio On Pools. BLD

Days 4 – With so many Maya sites in the area, you gotta see at least one! Only six miles away with enough space to run free and enough temples for the most energetic climbers, Xunantunich is a great one for families. Adventurous family members can choose to horseback ride to Xunantunich (2 Hours) and non-riders can go by road and meet at the site. After your guided tour of the site, head for Benny's,a favorite local restaurant for a lunch of tasty Belizean fare. BLD

Day 5 – This is the day you get to do whatever you want. Choose from our Activities & Tours list of options - either a combo of 2 half-day tours or one full-day tour. BLD

Day 6 – After breakfast, head over to Belize Botanic Gardens, to take a walk, sample some exotic fruits in season and visit a traditional Maya House modeled after the kind that many of our staff members lived in as children. Learn about local medicinal herbs and climb to the top of a tower overlooking the jungle. After a mid-morning snack, take a short horseback ride and end up at the river, where you put in for about a half-hour's tube drift down to duPlooy's beach, where your picnic lunch will be delivered to you and you can spend the afternoon swimming, tubing and canoeing. BLD

* Our horses are easy-going and suitable for riders of all abilities and ages.

Day 7 – Departure - Transfer to the Belize International Airport, Belize City or the Marine Terminal, with a stop-over at the Belize Zoo, if you weren't able to stop on your arrival day and your schedule permits. B
